Once again, we have arrived at “International Non-Binary People’s Day & Awareness Week”…another in a series of days and weeks assigned to the calendar to mark yet another recession in both women’s and worldly progress by the modern compulsion to celebrate and prioritize personal preferences over objective reality.
You didn't talk too much about “non-binary” men. I learned that it's a great way for a middle class white man in a seemingly hetero marriage to take himself down a step on the oppression totem pole, earning victimhood cred without having to do anything hard. If he's really trying, he might wear a pink shirt and paint his nails. Easy way to be a DEI hire. He can cry genocide if anyone ever dares to challenge him on anything.
I met a 42 year old man a couple of weeks ago who insisted on being called “they” even though he looked just as male as any other man. He even had a beard! It’s just a way to get more oppression points without actually doing anything.
People are seeing through this nonsense. You remember Sam Brinton, the Biden administration member who was bald with a goatee - along with a long, flowing dress? “They” would never be able to get away with that in public now. That movement has passed its sell-by date.
We would have been canceled 3 years ago just for having this conversation! Now we are laughing about it.
I believe a good portion of these "nonbinary" fools, both male and female, are looking for attention. They want a label that they believe helps them stand out from the plebian masses, all without having to accomplish anything. Then there are the girls and women you described who use it as a way to separate from their femaleness. Speaking only of what I observe in the US, some are trapped in a cage of their own making. I'm 65 and had a career in the military, first in the USAR and later active USN. In basic training in 1979, there was a young woman who would get up 2 hours early just to start working on hair and makeup. Keep in mind that we were constantly out in the field daily and we didn't get much sleep as it was. She was exhausting herself for absolutely no reason. I gained much respect for her when she finally realized the ridiculousness of her obsession and threw all the maintenance in the garbage. She had likely grown up with a mother that enforced the face paint, as many girls did back in those days, followed in adulthood by face paint and hose required at work. Twenty years later on a navy carrier, with a ratio of 1/25 female/male, many of the young women were still performing the same maintenance rituals. I look around at all the radical cosmetic surgery today and accept that no matter how much we advance, some women, just like men, are going to make choices that don't help them. Part of the female gender myth is that we are the keepers of purity and therefor held on a "pedestal." My interpretation of the pedestal myth is men will be polite as long as one upholds the myth. But females are no "purer" than males, just usually less physically aggressive. As you stated, this ideology is a slap in the face to women in other countries where there's no choice.

Exactly. I've seen it so many times now.
But nonbinary identities are on the decline … far fewer people are opting into these types of identities now than five years ago.
It can't happen soon enough.
The whole idea of “opting out“ of sex and gender is completely stupid. I don’t know who came up with that, but it’s totally silly.
